Gudai-Darri Mine – Finishing Works

Gudai-Darri Mine - Miscellaneous Finishing Works
  • May 2022 - April 2023
  • Lump Sum contract direct with the EPCM Worley.
  • Road pavement construction of various mine site access roads.
  • Management of major subcontractors for Asphalt and Two Coat sealing, line marking and road furniture.
  • Construction of Land farm facilities including bulk earthworks and drainage including winning of import material for treatment pads, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and geotextile lining, miscellaneous concrete, bunds, access tracks, laydown areas and fencing: and
  • Rehabilitation for disturbed areas and borrow pit.

FMG Grout Wall

FMG Queens Hydraulic Barrier Wall - Bulk Earthworks
  • May 2021 - December 2024
  • In partnership with FMG and Golders, constructing an underground hydraulic barrier in Queen's Valley.
  • Providing specialised operators for deep trench operations.
  • Bulk earthworks and Grout Batch Plant operators (24hr Operation)
  • Maintenance and operation of purpose-built grout injection vehicles and grout delivery vehicles.

RTIO Ops – Tom Price

Rio Tinto - Tom Price - Misc Earthworks
  • July 2021 - Ongoing
  • Clearing vegetation and remediation of onsite drains.
  • Installing rock protection and facing to batters and headwalls.
  • Onsite dust suppression.
  • Day works as required.

HanRoy Mulga Downs

HanRoy Mulga Downs Test Pitting and Access Track Construction
  • Small crew to clear access tracks into the location for the hydro drill rigs.
  • Construction of 7 hydro sumps (60m x 60m x 2m) sumps for the hydro rig operation.
  • 62 test pits along the proposed rail route for the geotechnical testing.

RTIO – Nammuldi

Rio Tinto Sustaining Capital - Nammuldi - Lens EF Road Construction
  • April 2021 - February 2022
  • Construction of 10km of new internal mine road to RTIO/MRWA standard.
  • Borrow to fill 150,000m3 (including sourcing, blending & conditioning of embankment and basecourse as required)
  • Installation of 1km of 600mm Dia CSP Culverts withing roadwork formations.
  • Supply & installation of roadside furniture including road signage, guideposts, and guardrails.
  • Sealing / Line marking of extent of roadworks.
  • Diversion Drain
  • Maintenance of access roads and tracks, including dust suppression for the duration of the works.
 

FMG Solomon – TSF

FMG Solomon TSF - Bulk Earthworks
  • February 2023 - December 2024
  • In partnership with FMG, constructing the first lift of the Solomon TSF.
  • Utilising mining fleet, providing 50 specalised operators for large bulk earthworks.

RTIO Rehabilitation – Tom Price

Rio Tinto Rehabilitation - Tom Price
  • July 2022 - Ongoing
  • Clearing vegetation in designated areas.
  • Load & Haul and reprofiling landforms to design criteria.
  • Ripping and seeding across dozens of hectares.

RTIO – B2B4

Rio Tinto Sustaining Capital - B2B4 Access Road Construction
  • March 2023 - November 2023
  • Construction of 5km of new internal mine road.
  • Borrow to Fill 200,000m3 (including sourcing, blending & conditioning of embankment and basecourse as required)
  • Supply & installation of roadside furniture including road signage, guideposts and guardrails.
  • Sealing / Line marking of extent of roadworks.
 

BHP Stockyards Expansion

Lorrex Contracting was awarded an Earthworks contract at the Stockyards at South Flank. Work Packages include:
  • June 2023 - February 2024
  • Mining of Stockyard Rows E and F
  • 3Mt Stockpile Footprint works
  • Doze Crushed Material West
  • Relocate material to 3Mt Stockpile Base
  • Relocate material to Rehandle Stockpile

BHP Stemming Services

Lorrex Contracting are operation and maintaining a Kleeman Crushing and Screening Plant and all of its Plant and Equipment (CAT980 Loaders)
  • Produce Stemming material in line with BHP’s monthly crushing.
  • Approximately 1,150 tonnes of stemming produced per day and 2,404t of -15mm waste.
  • Approximately 23,500t of stemming per month.

Gudai-Dari Rail Project

Lorrex Contracting undertook earthworks along the entire 200km of RTIO Gudai-Darri rail spur prior to new Rail handover to RTIO.
  • Maintenance of Access Tracks.
  • Supply and installation of road signage.
  • Rehabilitation of Rail construction camps.
Whilst undergoing these works, Lorrex Contracting was able to Maintain 25% Indigenous content throughout the project throughout COVID and Cyclone impacted programme.

Gudai-darri (Koodaideri) Mine

Rio Tinto awarded Lorrex Contracting for contract work on this $3.6 billion investment in North West WA. Services included:
  • Heritage and delineation works.
  • Construction of 8km of village access roads.
    • 300,000cm3 of embankment fill.
    • 2km of CSP culverts.
    • Road furniture (guide rails, delineators).
    • 1.5km levee bank.

Solomon Mine

This fully operational open-cut iron mine near Tom Price in WA utilises the expertise of Muntulgura Guruma for a five year road maintenance contract. It employs up to 50 people. Services include:
  • Maintaining approximately 150km to Main Roads WA specification.
  • Provision of traffic management.
  • Maintaining approximately 20km of Shire of Ashburton roads.
  • Maintaining approximately 80km of Eliwana rail access.

Eliwana Mine and Rail Project

For this $1.72 billion project near Tom Price in WA, Muntulgura Guruma provided 90 skilled staff (at peak) over 18 months to carry out:
  • Road construction and improvement works.
  • Construction of the ballast pad, sleeper pad and camp pad.
  • Road maintenance works.
  • Miscellaneous civil works including culverts, tracelines and rail crossings.
